Success Story - Mindray Medical(2)

First of all, I would like to thank Jenny and the whole ESiC team for their hard work in the past two years, which makes Mindray Procurement have a comprehensive procurement management information system for the first time, and take a solid step on the road to professional procurement.

Reviewing the whole process of the project, I have experienced and gained a lot, and I want to say the following two things:

  • On growth: Under the guidance of teacher Jenny, through many special workshops for business activities, procurement life training, process framework and business logic discussions, and discussions on information solutions, the team delivered to Mindray not only a set of information system, but also a complete set of rigorous logic, comprehensive coverage, profound and simple procurement business management logic. Continue to help Mindray professional procurement management, focus on value procurement, focus on investment in people;
  • About the team: The biggest impression that the team gives us is “the most unlike the company to do business”. The priority at any time is how to better help the customer. In the process of the project, in order to match the schedule, I often arranged the 997 work system and responded to the problems and new demands in a timely manner. This is due to the excellent team members led by Jenny, Sophia who is clear in thinking and never sloppy, Apple who is meticulous in project management, and Alex who is gentle and gentle. In addition, Jerry, Shirley and I can’t list all the serious and responsible development teams, which let us see the excellent team with strong combat effectiveness and customer service consciousness;

In the past two years, thanks to the ESiC team for letting us in the down-to-earth pragmatic business at the same time, can look up at the stars to broaden our horizons, learn professional procurement business management knowledge, and hope to achieve the easy and comfortable “procurement life” described by teacher Jenny as soon as possible.

When a group of purchasers finally summoned up the courage to start doing a wechat public number, they were nervous because they feared that the frequency and content of sharing would not meet expectations. At that time, I encouraged my colleagues to write down every online story as long as they came from the heart, not only because every online line is worthy of applause, but also because the story behind it, the hardship paid, is worth remembering and reviewing.Before the Spring Festival, with the concerted efforts of Mindray and the ESiC team, we successfully added two new modules to the already online Mindray e-Sourcing platform. Shirley, the product manager responsible for these two modules, and Apple also wrote the story early and waited for the release.

I have been waiting a long time for this story. I always want to write something, but I don’t want to add to the wonderful story of Shirley and Apple.

I have known Mindray for three years, and the picture I can’t get out of my mind is the narrow walkway from the gate to the office building in Guangming Factory. Flanked by vermilion factory buildings, overhead was the blue sky that grew into a square shaped by the building. Accompanied by the breeze through the hall, I prepared my mood and expectations, and began to meet with the project team of Mindray again and again for demand analysis, process sorting and discussion, scheme review, test feedback and repair.

I don’t want to go into details, the Mindray team has left me a deep impression, from humble and pragmatic leadership to friendly and studious and diligent team. The cooperation with Mindray is both substantial and effective. There are too many stories and memories here, missing thousands of words.

On the occasion of the difficult resumption of work during the 2020 Spring Festival, read two short stories written by colleagues together, thanks, remembrance and inspiration. (Jenny, CEO of ESiC)

My name is Shirley and I joined the team in 2011. To this day, we have been respecting the rich professional procurement culture, and strive to serve our customers.On the first day of 2019, when I was asked if I would like to join the e-Sourcing department, having been engaged in professional purchasing work in the ESiC team for nearly 8 years, I accepted without hesitation. I did not hesitate because this is the momentum that I once yearned for and admired. Even though this is a new beginning and full of challenges, I still believe that this passionate, hopeful and loving team will go higher and farther.

e-Tendering was the first SRM system product I worked on when I joined the e-Sourcing team. From design, development, testing to implementation, I was lucky enough to be involved in the whole process. Today, when the product is already on the client line, recalling this whole process, I want to say that any success has many people to pay unlimited efforts, and there are countless twists and turns behind any success.

Electronic bidding is a brand new module for us. Our colleagues with more than 20 years of procurement experience spent one month, after countless meetings and discussions, when the design draft was submitted, Jenny, the leader of the company, put forward dozens of improvement suggestions. As small as the alignment of each character of the UI, the optimization of each functional detail, the sorting of the business process and so on. When receiving the updated version from Jenny, everyone said, “Yes, this is the product we want!” This tells all of us to treat products with excellence and pursue perfection.

The attitude towards products does not stop there. Although ESiC’s e-Sourcing platform is done by a group of professional buyers with many years of supply chain management experience, we have never stopped communicating with more purchasing managers. In order to make the e-bidding system module reflect the principle of fairness and openness as much as possible, Jenny also organized our group to participate in various bidding trainings, exchange experience with different enterprises and government bidding managers face to face, and discuss possible problems in the bidding process, hoping to give us more inspiration in each learning exchange. Let the electronic bidding module do more perfect. We also want to thank everyone who has helped us along the way.

In the meeting of demand analysis with colleagues of Mindray GP, Zhu Ya, the person in charge of tendering module, said, “We hope to optimize the existing business process and planning of tendering work through e-Tendering module, and transfer the tendering process from offline to online, improving the transparency and efficiency of tendering organization and evaluation.” The digital management method facilitates the coordination of various management departments of the company and ensures the compliance and efficiency of the bidding work.”

In the face of this expectation, I have been nervous, nervous is if the product is not perfect, how to do. The humorous Juya always says that ESiC is our very friendly partner, and we believe in the products and services that ESiC brings to us. Special thanks to Juya for giving us affirmation again and again, like the sun shining into this winter, so warm.

In the face of this expectation, I am more looking forward to seeing that with the help of ESiC SRM system, Mindray can achieve excellent procurement management, improve work efficiency and enhance value. And I have done a little struggle and contribution to this.

The successful launch of each system module is indispensable to the customer’s UAT test. I would like to give special thanks to all the colleagues in Mindray GP department who have done UAT testing with us. Even though your work has made you struggle until 8 or 9 PM every day, you still found time to participate in so many tests and give valuable opinions with Feng Zhi.

I am also very touched that you can always find many highlights of the system when testing, and do not hesitate to praise, such as: “Look, this function is very user-friendly, in one step”, “the design here is very good, isn’t it great”. At that moment I was inspired and moved by you like a child.

There are many more heart-warming pictures and clips like this, and there are many people to thank. Thanks to Fong developer George for countless days and nights to finally achieve the 98.5% optimization rate of the bidding module; Thank Zhu Xiaobo, the handsome project manager of Mindray, for actively deploying various resources for the tender launch; Thanks to Ze Hui, Zhao Yong, Tian Yuyang and other colleagues for testing and looking forward to the bidding module; Thank you for spending a lot of time to organize the supplier’s basic data and do not stop to modify the patience; Thanks to Manager Dai Ying and Zhu Ya for all the support and efforts for the module launch, and thanks to every member of the ESiC development and project implementation team for their help and efforts!

In the early summer of 2018, I began to assist Jenny to participate in the demand analysis of the first phase of the project, through which I had the honor to meet a group of young and energetic supply chain peers. Half a year later, our first module was successfully launched.This story is for our second online module. On the way to the Mindray project meeting, Xiaobo took part in the award taking photos. I didn’t know that the e-Sourcing project team had won the award for the category analysis combined with the project. While taking photos, I also asked other purchasing colleagues around me, knowing that the system can really help everyone’s work, and I felt that all the efforts were worth it.

I want to write down these work, and leave a deep memory of the scene, so that we remember that the success of the line is not accidental, because of countless pay in the back.

There are module by module, requirements analysis sessions. The colleagues of the Mindray project team always squeezed out a large period of time in their busy work, and with an open and innovative attitude, they discussed various different user scenarios in turn, and finally formulated the optimal process plan compatible with the needs of different business departments.

Here is the user reception test before the line, the project manager Xiaobo took the trouble to convene the relevant business personnel to carry out the test again and again and again, large to a variety of business scenarios, the size of each page function, small to the page of the text line alignment, field name description, The user’s operating habits and common name considerations have been tested very carefully and comprehensively.

In the whole process of user acceptance testing, the proportion of users participating in the test is very high, not only the test of the core team of the project, but almost all the Sourcing colleagues are involved in the process testing.

Here are two consecutive days of purchasing training courses hosted by Jenny, Purchasing Life. I believe that the procurement training attended by 80 or 90 people is also the largest procurement training Jenny has ever experienced. It can be seen that everyone benefited a lot, because the training room was full of seats and everyone spoke enthusiastically. What touched me was that Mindray colleagues who were already professional and experienced could still be so open-minded and eager to learn, and positive and enterprising.

Of course, there is the celebration party on the line of the project, and everyone celebrates the lively scene of a drunk party.

I also want to make a special mention of Xiaobo, Mindray’s e-Sourcing project manager. The first time I met Xiaobo, this sunny and handsome big boy left me a very warm impression. In the later cooperation and communication, through his young and confident face, I gradually saw his steadiness, excellent communication and leadership skills.

Thanks to Xiaobo, who took the trouble to convene and participate in every project meeting, so that the project can proceed as planned; Thank you and your team for providing hundreds of optimization suggestions, so that the system is more perfect and closer to the needs and experience of users; Thank you for your expectation that users will use the interface as soon as they see it, and there is basically no training before the test, so that we can slowly get closer to the standard of operation without training after a series of test feedback and optimization.
