“On June 8, 2020, Mindray e-Sourcing platform launched a new module: RoHS supplier material information compliance collaborative management. Up to now, Mindray has successfully launched 8 modules.

Compared with other modules of SRM system, RoHS module is a unique customer requirement, which may not be covered in the general SRM system, and is a new attempt and challenge for Mindray and Fong. Very proud, under the sincere cooperation of both sides, we have overcome this difficulty together, which is difficult and sweet and bitter can be seen from the following colleagues’ testimonies.

I am Chen Da, head of the Mindray RoHS project. I received the invitation from the Apple team to review the entire project and share the following two feelings with you:

• The SRM platform triggers a requirement information to the supplier, the supplier is invited to upload the technical quality document, and the platform will automatically associate the document with the PLM. But how do you implement triggers? How to efficiently let suppliers upload material data after triggering? Different forms of RoHS evidence, how to achieve compliance? How can material data be linked to another system after being sent back? How to control the validity period? … Wait a minute. A whole host of problems lie ahead. Therefore, every project regular meeting will be called on the ESiC team to participate together, put the requirements as clear as possible, and discuss how to achieve the program. What impressed me most was that when the Mindray team had different opinions on a certain business implementation process, or even deadlocked, teacher Jenny could provide some good cases of other companies and her own opinions for us to think about and improve, and help us explore the needs and realize the business process more efficiently.

• About the team: When Mindray e-Sourcing phase II was launched before, I heard colleagues from other departments of Mindray share that “ESiC team always gives priority to how to better help customers”. After this cooperation, I feel the same way. The RoHS project was originally planned to complete the software development at the end of March, but due to the impact of the epidemic, face-to-face discussions could not be held, and the resources of key members of the project team were limited, so the project could only be postponed. The Fengzhi team overcame the difficulties, adjusted resources and actively cooperated with Mindray’s plan, and conducted several remote video conferences to discuss the plan. I remember one time, because of my personal time issues, the video conference could only be scheduled for Sunday morning. At 9am on Sunday morning, which is supposed to be a weekend at home, I remember that there were five or six Fong members in the meeting and they all showed great team spirit and professionalism. Especially when Aaron explained and demonstrated the entire RoHS implementation logic and operation page to us, I deeply felt: what an excellent team this is!
